James 1:19-20 – “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” NKJV

      whats-that-about_.mp3

Have you ever witnessed someone who was so angry that they were out of control? Have you been that someone?

One morning, as I was entering the school building, a fight broke out. It was pretty intense as kids were shouting, using profanity, and dodging in and out of the ruckus. My first thought was, “It’s too early in the morning for this!” I wish that I can say that this was abnormal, but the harsh reality of it is, over the 16 years that I have been in education, it has been way too common.

So much anger in the world today. Unfortunately, many of our kids see and hear so much in their homes, in their environments, and even on television that fills them with anger. What’s that about?

Well, I’m not a psychologist, and I can’t say for sure, but here are some reasons anger is prevalent in our society:

      • Stress – from many avenues
      • Family problems – too many to name
      • Financial woes- joblessness, debt, poverty, homelessness
      • Illness – self or loved one
      • Grief

While each of these things are real, we have a word from the word about how to handle anger: we are to be slow to anger. James doesn’t leave us hanging with just telling us to be slow to anger. He tells us that this anger doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.

I’m not writing to the unsaved. I am writing to the person who I believe is a Christian; a Bible believing, Bible toting, Bible quoting Christian, dealing with uncontrolled anger.

There are times when we feel our anger is justified. Ask Esau. He was the firstborn of Isaac. His twin, Jacob was younger. As they grew, Esau had the heart of his father, and Jacob had the heart of his mother. Esau was casual about everything, and one day he made a trade with his brother: Esau promised his birthright to Jacob if Jacob would just give him something to eat. Later on, when Isaac was ready to pass the blessing on to Esau, Jacob stole it. (But did he really? After all, Esau had given it to him). This angered Esau so much that he promised to kill his brother! The Bible even goes so far as to say that Esau comforted himself with these thoughts! What’s that about? He was so angry that he wanted to kill his brother, and this brought him comfort? That’s bizarre! Yet, he felt justified in his anger! But nothing righteous will come from this type of venting of our anger.

The Bible has a lot to say about anger. For example:

Romans 12:19,21 – Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. NKJV

This is a tough truth to live by when you have been deeply hurt. I know that, and more importantly, God knows that. But look at the promise in this verse: vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay! You may not see it happen, but I can promise you this, if you will trust God with your anger, He’s got your back!

      Here’s another truth:

Psalm 37:8 – “Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm. NKJV

Ain’t that the truth! Harm to your physical body, harm to your mental state, harm in your relationships, harm at your job, and the list goes on. I knew someone who was so angry, that person couldn’t keep a job. Several someones. Harm!

This is what I try to teach my students about anger. If it isn’t dealt with, in a positive way, it will cause more harm than good. Fighting leads to suspension. Every single time! Angry outbursts lead to loss. Loss of time in school, loss of learning, loss of trust, loss in relationships, just so much loss. In the end, was it really worth it?

People are incarcerated today because they didn’t control their anger. People are in the grave because they never dealt with their anger. And just because we are saved, doesn’t mean that we won’t experience these exact same results if we persist in our anger.

God offers this solution to your anger issues:

Matthew 6:14 – “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” NKJV

If you are going to live free of anger, you are going to have to learn to forgive. Forgiveness is more freeing than you think. It doesn’t let the person get away with anything, because God is a righteous judge. But it does release you from the prison of all that pent up, negative emotion called anger.

Proverbs 19:11 – The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression. NKJV

Sometimes, we just have to learn to overlook the things that make us angry. It isn’t easy. It very well may be impossible for you to accomplish, but not with God. With God, all things are possible! Even being free of anger.

When Jacob returned home many years later, He asked God to deliver him from Esau’s anger. And guess what happened? You already know! God did just that! But let’s look from Esau’s point of view. He wanted to kill Jacob the last time he saw him. But at some point, he obviously let that anger go. When he saw Jacob, Jacob was bowing before him in humility. He rushed to his brother and embraced him. The rest is history!

Even perceived justification of anger can be released. God wants us to be whole before Him. He knows that nothing righteous will come of it. He knows the damage of anger and doesn’t want us to go through that. If you are struggling with anger, for any reason, God has you reading this blog, so that you might be free. Go ahead! Release the anger, offer forgiveness, and receive the forgiveness and peace of God that has been waiting for you. Wonderful Jesus!

Luke 4:18 – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed..NKJV

Today’s topic will probably not be a feel good topic, but I refuse to ignore it, since it is part of the ministry of Jesus. When Jesus read the list of things that God had anointed Him to do, dealing with oppression was in the list. He said it this way, “to set at liberty those who are oppressed”. Most people don’t even think about oppression, but today, we will take a quick look at what oppression is. First, we will look at natural or physical oppression.

Oppression is real in our society. No matter how much we wish for it to not be so, it is so. Oppression was at the heart of the women’s suffrage movement during the 1800s. Women were tired of being ornaments on their husbands and fathers arms, doormats in their homes, and being kept “barefoot and pregnant”. They wanted to have a real place in society, with a voice, and opportunities.

The Civil Rights movement during the 50s and 60s, was a cry for social just because of the systemic oppression Black people faced on a daily basis. Low paying jobs, segregated schools, stores, communities. Giving honor to whites on the bus, on the sidewalk, in the line. They just wanted the same rights, freedoms, and job opportunities of their white counterparts.

Black Lives Matter, is the millennials cry to unfair treatment of non-whites by police and the justice system. As they watch individuals being murdered on the streets, on video, and it being called justifiable. For them, that is unacceptable!

Many Christians, Black and white, are confused as to how they should view situations and organizations like Black Lives Matter. We are told, by Blacks and Whites alike a variety of things: “If Black Lives Matter, why is there so much Black on Black crime”? I ask you, ” Don’t we have a lot of white on white crime? Surely killing inside of your own race is not just a problem with Blacks?” We are told that if we really care about Black lives, we should care about the Blacks in the ghetto who are being killed in gang violence. I say to that, “If you are really pro-life, you should care also”. Gang violence is a societal issue that is being ignored because it involves Black and Brown individuals, not because it is unsolvable. We most certainly, as a nation, could do more to stomp out gang violence. And we should! But one really does not have anything to do with the other.

A definition of oppression is prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. That is what the Women’s Suffrage movement complained about, the Civil Rights Activist complain about, and what Black Lives Matter complain about. Cruel and unjust treatment or control.

Whenever God’s people, the Israelites, found themselves under oppression, they would call out to God and He would deliver them! Therefore, it’s no surprise that part of Jesus’ ministry would be to set the oppressed free.

      When Jesus said:

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. John 13:34 – NKJV

He was giving us a key to handling natural oppression. Where we have godly, or agape love for one another, we will have genuine concern for them, their needs, and their well-being. Love isn’t a commodity we throw around to control people, it’s how they will know that we are truly His disciples.

By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”John 13:35 – NKJV

Then there is spiritual oppression that we can experience in life. The Bible refers to this oppression as being demonic. It’s just as cruel in nature, and equally as controlling in the individual’s life, and we must be healed of it. Acts 10:38 states:

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38 – NKJV

Can I just say, that I had to look up the difference between oppression and those who are bound by chains? I thought they were one and the same, but the definition for oppression in the Vine’s dictionary gives us a different meaning altogether:

The Greek word “thrauo” means bruise:

“to smite through, shatter,” It is used in Luk 4:18, “them that are bruised,” i.e., broken by calamity.

This oppression, that is brought on by the devil, is what we experience after great calamity and trouble. The loss of a loved one through violence, sudden death from COVID-19, floods, hurricanes…unexpected, inexplicable things that causes us to feel as if we are being shattered by the event that has taken place. In the Young’s Literal translation, Luke 4:18 reads like this:

`The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because He did anoint me; to proclaim good news to the poor, sent me to heal the broken of heart, to proclaim to captives deliverance, and to blind receiving of sight, to send away the bruised with deliverance..Luke 4:18 – YLT

Jesus wants us to come to Him with these bruises, not to run away. He says, He will heal us, send us away delivered and put back together. He is still saying, “Come to Me”.

Isaiah 53 is where we find a powerful verse on healing:

Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5 – NKJV

But right after that, we have this verse:

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. Isaiah 53:7 – NKJV

Jesus understands physical and spiritual oppression. He didn’t avoid any of it, because He wanted us to know that He understood what we were experiencing. Today, if you find yourself bruised, shattered, and hurting over the cruel actions of others or events, know that you are not alone. Jesus has been where you find yourself, and He gets it. And the greater words of encouragement for you are: He can heal you. It is what He was anointed to do! What He is still anointed to do!

Some experiences in life are shattering. I wish it was not so. So does the Father! I promise you He isn’t responsible. He said that the devil is responsible and Jesus is the cure. Trust Him today to put all the pieces back together again in your life. So whether you are experiencing a natural or spiritual oppression at this time, you can experience freedom and healing. The way to that freedom may be different, but if you’ll trust Jesus, you can experience it in the natural and in the spiritual realm. Wonderful Jesus!

    • Removing the Blinders!

Luke 4:18 -“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed…”NKJV

      removing-the-blinders_.mp3

When we were kids, we would play games where we pretended that we were blind. Today, I realize how terribly insensitive that game was, but at that time, we thought we were having fun. There is nothing entertaining about making fun of the disabilities of others, and I am embarrassed to realize that I didn’t always think this way. While we were pretending to be blind, we were actually walking in blindness to the pain and thoughtlessness that this game could have caused those who were visually impaired. Thank God we grew out of that!

The ministry of Jesus is an all encompassing ministry. When He read these words in Luke, He proclaimed that He had come to meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of mankind. Nothing was irrelevant or umimportant, and nothing was to be ignored. He had come for His people.

Today, I am blogging about Jesus’ ministry that deals with “recovery of sight to the blind”. The Bible makes us aware of both spiritual and physical blindness. In my earlier example, I was blind and didn’t know it, and there are many today, who are walking around blind and are unaware of it.

One of my favorite miracles in the Bible happened in the book of John chapter 9. This was the miracle that brought down the wrath of the Pharisees. (As if they had any real power). The healing of the man born blind. Now, the Pharisees were already too outdone with Jesus, but for some reason, this sent them over the top!

Jesus passed by a man that had come into the world blind. His disciples took this opportunity to ask the Master, who did sin, the man or his parents? Well, since he was born blind, we can definitely rule the man out, he didn’t have a chance to commit any sin to bring a loss of his sight. As for the parents, Jesus said it wasn’t them either. But He did acknowledge that this blindness would allow Him, Jesus, to manifest God to the man.

Every aspect of Jesus’ ministry was not only people oriented, but it was to fulfill the purposes of God. Ministry isn’t about getting us a name, or building us a reputation, or even a legacy; but for the glory of God. I’ve read many books of the men and women, God used to display His power. Most of them eventually came to a place where they acted as if it was their power flowing. Not so! That’s for another blog, but the point is, it is never about us!

Jesus directed His disciples to the truth that what they were getting ready to witness, was about glorifying God, fulfilling His work! Every salvation, every deliverance, every healing, every comforted soul, is for His glory!

Jesus then made clay with His saliva, anointed the man’s eyes, and told him to go and wash in the pool of Siloam. When he came back from the pool, the man could see. This was such a big deal, and such a notable miracle, that it got people to talking. Now here’s why I love it so much!!

The man began to testify. He shared it with his neighbors and all who would listen. Even in the synagogue. And when they refused to accept his testimony, he just kept telling them what happened, and defending Jesus, even at the threat of being excommunicated. Nothing else mattered after Jesus gave him sight, but the fact that he could now see. Love it!

He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” John 9:25 -NKJV

Then there was Bartimaeus! We still call him Blind Bartimaeus, but he didn’t remain blind. For when he cried out to Jesus, His sight was restored. Jesus healed physical blindness on several occasions. As He ministered restoring of sight, He dealt with their poverty. Those who were blind, were definitely amongst the poor. They were generally beggars. Even the man in John 9 was a beggar. He had a family. Both parents were alive (we know this because the Pharisees sent for them); and yet, he was begging. When Bartimaeus threw away his beggar clothes to go to Jesus, he threw away his past and embraced his future!

Spiritual blindness is just as confining as physical blindness, and can cause a spiritual poverty in the lives of those who experience it. But spiritual blindness can be more costly because it can lead to spiritual death.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 – But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. NKJV

Paul wrote that the devil has blinded the minds of people throughout the ages, causing the gospel message to be hidden from them. I thank God, that I can say like the man in John 9, I once was blind but now I see! Those blinders have thankfully been removed! But if they remain, you are in danger of experiencing eternal death.

      Jesus said it like this:

So that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.’ ”. Mark 4:12 – NKJV

Not a case of physical blindness, but a worst case of physical sight and not perceiving that you are blind to the more critical things that you really need to see.

One type of blindness we may all need to have our sight restored from, on occasion, is deception. James wrote:

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. James 1:16 – NKJV

Yet, how often do we find ourselves deceived. We think we right, when we are wrong! That’s deception. We think someone has done something to us and they aren’t even aware there is a problem. Deception! We get so caught up in ourselves, that we allow the deceiver, to cause us to become deceived. Worst then being deceived, is when we deceive ourselves.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. James 1:22-24 – NKJV

Jesus, the Living Word, can help us to see more clearly. Reading the logos of the word, can help us to understand better. Obeying God’s word, over all else, is the wisest way to be kept from deception.

If we are not careful, we can live with blinders over our eyes and around our mind. Blinders to the full gospel. Blinders to our personal weaknesses. Blinders to relationships that suck the life out of us. Blinders, blinders, and more blinders!

Jesus came to give recovery of sight to the blind. Whether we suffer from physical or spiritual blindness, He is the cure! Notice I didn’t say that He has the cure! He is the cure! Reach out in faith today to have your sight restored! Wonderful Jesus!

      he’ll-make-it-better_-1.mp3

I have to admit that my blog was kind of long on yesterday, but you should’ve seen all that I had to cut out! I’ll try and do better today, but this is a topic that people from all walks of life, every tongue, and every nation can identify with: a broken heart! I look at the person in this picture and think, what would cause a grown man to stand in a shower, fully dressed, and cry his heart out?

You don’t have to live long to experience a broken heart, but if you’ve lived for any number of years, you have probably had your share of experiences that have caused your heart to break! Well, I have great news for you today! Jesus was sent to heal the broken heart!

I decided to go online tonight, and I found that there is actually a condition called broken heart syndrome! That was a little surprising, but realizing the many instances of how a heart can be broken, I can see that!

What’s broken your heart? Maybe you had a loved one who got in trouble with the law, and their lives were essentially ruined as they were hauled off to jail? Or maybe you went to work one day, and when you returned your spouse had taken all of his/her personal items and didn’t even leave a note? Or maybe it wasn’t that drastic, it was just that your spouse lied to you about something that you thought was important? Or your best friend turned out to be your worst nightmare? Maybe your dream job was given to the person you like the least in the company, or the promotion you thought you were getting turned out to be a demotion? The list can go on and on and on, because as long as we interact with people, there is the potential for a broken heart!

This pandemic has claimed almost 380,000 lives here in America, and almost 2,000,000 lives worldwide. I can assure you that there are a lot of broken hearts today. There are those who have lost their businesses, their homes, their livelihoods, their churches, their health, all because COVID-19 showed up unexpectedly and stayed way longer than we could have imagined. Heartbreak!

Here’s what the psalmist wrote about the situation:

Psalm 147:3 -He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow]. AMP

      And again,

Psalm 34:18 – The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart…NKJV

The disciples come to mind at the moment, of those with a broken heart. Can you imagine the way their hearts must have felt as they saw the Savior being crucified? Can you wonder what it must have felt like to see Him so disfigured on the cross? The One who had healed so many, brought life to others, and gave hope to them all hung there lifeless before them. Don’t you think their hearts had to have been crushed with each pounding of the nails into His hands and feet? Oh my, how I cried when I watched it portrayed in “The Passion of the Cross”. I might have fainted away and died had I witnessed it in person.

And Peter! What about his heart? As he heard that cock crow for the last time and realized that he had done the very thing he said he wouldn’t do? He wept bitterly! Why? His heart was literally breaking into pieces.

But Jesus didn’t leave them there with that overwhelming pain. And He doesn’t want to leave you there. Just as He went to them and healed their broken hearts, He will come to you, if you let Him.

I well remember a time when He came to me. Unfortunately, I wish I could say that it was only once, but it was several times through the decades of my life, that He has healed me. One night, I lay in bed a sobbing mess! As I lay there, hurting over a deeply painful situation, I could hardly breathe. Snot running from nose, tears flowing my eyes, balled up in pain. All I could think was, “O God, help me!” I even whispered that I wish He could just wrap His arms around me and hold me. Not moments later, I felt as if arms were being wrapped around me and I was being held close. I knew it was His Presence. As He held me, He healed me. The pain just began to be absorbed into Him as it was drained from me. The experience was so supernatural, it’s truly unbelievable. But since I experienced it, I know it to be true.

The disciples asked Jesus one day, “Don’t You care that we are about to perish?” Your heart may be hurting so badly right now that you are wondering if He cares. I can truly assure you that He does. He not only cares, but He came to heal you of that pain!

Stop carrying around that albatross! It’s too much for you to bear! But it’s just the thing for Him to bear! He truly wants to heal you of all the hurt that you are experiencing, even right now! He wants to remove the guilt, the shame, the paralyzing fear that comes with it. He wants to remove it all! So that you can be free!

All you need to do is to give it to Him! Cry out to Him, not just in pain, but in faith; believing that He can and He will heal you. For only He can! He will make it better for you! He promised! Wonderful Jesus!

    • Healed By the Word!

Posted at 10:00 am by wonderfuljesus8, on November 9, 2020

Psalm 107:20 – He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. NKJV

      healed-by-the-word_.mp3

I know that I have been writing about grace, but tonight I am thinking about healing. The pandemic is raging war in our world, and we need to understand, like never before, that God is our Healer!

In this verse, the psalmist wrote that He, God, sent His word and healed them. I want to look at what this means for us. Let’s look at the literal word of God in relationship to healing.

Proverbs 4:20-22 – My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. NKJV

If we are looking at the literal meaning, when the psalmist states that He sent His word, it is validated here in Proverbs that the logos, the written word of God, has healing in it. Look closer at this verse in Proverbs. The writer is referring to the word of God when he states that it is life to those who find them and health to all their flesh! The written, literal word of God is life and health to those who find them. When we are attacked in our body, with COVID or anything else, we can stand on the word of God for our healing, and for our health.

Another way of looking at “He sent His Word”, is looking at Jesus!

John 1:1,14 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. NKJV

God sent Jesus, and Jesus came with healing. Malachi 4 prophecies that He will have healing in His wings! Jesus was the embodiment of healing. When He was present, He was to heal! The New Testament is filled with examples of Jesus bringing healing. The miracle of healing that I want to mention is the one with the word.

A centurion went to Jesus and asked Him to heal his servant. Jesus told the centurion that He would come and heal the servant. This is what the servant said to Jesus:

Matthew 8:8-9 – The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it. ” NKJV

And guess what happened? You’re right! The sending of His word healed the servant! However, we choose to “interpret” this verse in Psalm 107, the truth of the matter is that the Word of God brings healing!

Hear what the psalmist wrote in Psalm 119:

Psalm 119:49-50 – Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life. NKJV

Again, we see the word giving life! The logos of God’s word and the Word made flesh gives life! What a truth to hang on to in these times when the virus seems to be out of control. Fear won’t keep us healthy or get us healed, but the Word will!

I want to pray for you right now and release healing over you:

Father God! I thank You today that You are our Healer! You have said that Your word is life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh! In the precious name of Jesus, I release Your word right now that declares that “by Your stripes we are healed”! I release Your word today that says “You heal us of all of our diseases, just as you forgive us of all of our sins! Posted at 9:00 am by wonderfuljesus8, on April 18, 2020

2 Corinthians 5:7- “for we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Coronavirus is ongoing! Some have perished, and hundreds of thousands are sick with it. And there’s no cure in sight. As a matter of fact, I heard on the news that they are not expecting to have a vaccine until 2022. What are we to do? I believe that this is the time to learn to trust God like never before.

I like to read the classics, and one of my favorite is, “Christ, the Healer” by F.F, Bosworth. In his book he wrote, “Walking by faith is walking by sight of a better kind…We see with the eye of faith the glorious things that are invisible to the natural eye. Faith is the most rational thing in the world, because it is based on the greatest of facts and realities. It sees God; it sees Calvary, where disease and sin were canceled. It sees the promises of God and His faithfulness.”

Years ago, when I was a youth minister, one of my teens was involved in a terrible accident. Her skull was cut up to relieve swelling, and all kinds of things were going on. But when we went to visit her in the hospital, her mom had a picture of her posted to her hospital machines and she said basically, “That’s who I see. My daughter completely whole.” I want you to know, that’s what she got! Her daughter completely whole. She refused to believe what she saw in the natural as the end of her daughter’s life and embraced what she saw by faith!

Dr. Sandra Kennedy shared a similar testimony on Sid Roth. She said her dog accidentally bit her in the face. I don’t remember all the details, but her face was not normal and her speech was impaired. She placed pictures of her smiling face every where in her house and decreed that she was completely restored. And one day she was!

We did a similar thing in our own life. Our daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis. She was even placed in a body brace to correct it. But then we placed her X-ray on our refrigerator so that every time we say it, we would say her spine was straight, in Jesus’ name! Or we would command it to be straight. And she went for a check-up and the doctor said it was straight. Glory to God!

These are serious times. They are challenging all of us in ways we couldnt’ imagine, but God was not caught off guard and neither is He worried! He said the just shall live by their faith! Even in a pandemic!

I like how John Osteen explained the walk of faith. He said basically that you don’t deny the facts of what is happening because they are real. You just choose to agree with what God has to say about things. That’s walking by faith!

I think about the woman with the issue of blood. She went to see Jesus that she might be healed. I don’t think the Bible tells us all of the details, so let me just add what I think could have happened. When she got there she saw the crowd, and actually heard Jairus ask Jesus to come and heal his little girl. He’s leaving, what will she do now! At that point she could’ve said, it is just not for me to be healed. But she didn’t. She had come to be healed and she was going to be healed. So she said within herself, if I could just touch the hem of His garment, I will be healed. He doesn’t have to see me, He doesn’t have to talk to me or lay hands on me. If I can just touch the hem of His garment, I will be healed. So she pressed through the crowd until she got near enough to touch His hem, and she reached out with the hand of faith, touched it, and was made whole. She saw herself, in her mind, touching the hem of His garment and being healed. And so she was.

Maybe it is time for you to get a picture. What are you believing God for? Is it healing, get a picture of you completely healed. Is it a spouse, get a picture of your honeymoon spot, or a wedding dress! Maybe it’s your finances-well get a picture of your bank book see a balance on it you want to see! Maybe you can’t get a physical picture, but you can see a mental picture of you working, of you pregnant, of you in your new home. Whatever it is, it’s time to look through the eyes of faith. It’s time to see God, to see His promises, to see His word come to pass in your life. Wonderful Jesus!

    • You Are God’s Garden!

Posted at 9:00 am by wonderfuljesus8, on April 16, 2020

1 Corinthians 3:9 -For we are God’s fellow workers [His servants working together]; you are God’s cultivated field [His garden, His vineyard], God’s building. AMP

The phrase, “you are God’s garden” has been turning over in my mind for the past few days; and you’ve guessed it, I had to blog about it.

In verse 6 of this same chapter, Paul wrote, “I did the planting, Apollos did the watering, but it was God who gave the increase”.

Look at the image of the garden! It’s gorgeous! I wouldn’t want the responsibility of it, but I would love to view it every day. That’s an image of you, from heaven’s point of view. It’s how He sees you! Growing more beautiful every day, with vibrant colors, and a variety of flowers, you are a God’s garden!

Who decides what is planted in this garden? Paul said that he did the planting. Paul was the one who sowed the seed of God’s word to the Corinthian believers. God’s word, His promises, are the seed for your garden. The planting in your garden is based on the word that you hear, read, study, or embrace. Although He sees the end product, beautiful, luscious, vibrant, and well groomed, ultimately, you are responsible for the seed that is planted in your garden. Remember, Jesus said that the seed sown was the word of God.

Another important ingredient to the well being of a garden is water. Paul said Apollos watered. Apollos came after Paul and watered that seed that Paul had planted. This analogy was based on the ministry they were cultivating in Corinth; but for us, it’s about our own personal garden, our heart. So your garden needs water. This is where you allow the Holy Spirit to help you in the growth of the word. As you meditate on the word of God, rehearse, pray it, sing it, rejoice over it, you are watering your garden. David loved God’s word! He was always watering his garden with the word, “oh how I love your law, it’s the meditation of my heart, thy word have I hid in my heart, your word is forever settled in my heart.”

When you plant God’s word in your heart, His promises, you need to water that seed to see it produce what you are expecting and believing Him for. The word for healing could be, “Father, you wounded Jesus for my transgressions and with His stripes I was healed. I’m so grateful for that. I rejoice in that truth and accept that truth over my symptoms! Thank you! Thank you for driving sickness and disease away from me. Thank you for saying healing is my bread! You are so wonderful to me like that! I receive your medicine, oh God, and I know it is done!”

Then, God gives the increase! When we are cultivating the word of God in our hearts, and watering it with praise, thanksgiving, and meditation, that’s the end of our responsibility. Now, you trust God to bring increase into your garden. Healing, peace, blessings, favor, mercy, whatever you are believing for! He watches over His word to perform it!

Right now, you don’t see the beautiful garden of your heart, that God sees. You may only see a dry and parched land. But it’s not too late to begin sowing seed and pouring water into your garden. Trust the Holy Spirit to assist you in the redesigning of your garden. Let Him help you pick out your plants: healing, peace, deliverance, love, joy, and whatever else that will cause your garden to be something that others will enjoy! That you will flourish within!

You! Are! God’s! Garden! Work with Him to make you something that will last for all eternity! Wonderful Jesus!

    • A Bold Example!

Posted at 3:52 pm by wonderfuljesus8, on March 26, 2020

John 9:6-7 – “When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.” NKJV

Jesus is amazing! And when He was on the Earth, there was none who compared to Him! And that is even truer today, although He uses us to keep His kingdom running smoothly! This account of the healing of the blind man could very easily be my absolute favorite! One of the things I love about this miracle is that there was so much going on and John told us all about it!

For those of you who may not be as familiar with this miracle, I’ll give you a summary: Jesus was leaving the temple and as He did He passed a man who born blind. The disciples asked Jesus who sinned, the man or his parents? (The reason they asked Jesus this could be based on Exodus 15:26 where God promised that He wouldn’t allow sickness and disease to come upon them if they obeyed Him). I don’t know for sure, but it is pretty obvious that they felt the man was blind because someone sinned.

Jesus goes on to tell the disciples that neither one had sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. (Let me pause here and say that Jesus isn’t saying that this man was born blind so that God could get glory from His life! God is not the one who puts sickness and disease on people)! Many people wonder why sickness and disease is even in the world if it isn’t God’s will for His people, and that’s a good question. Just remember that sin entered the world through Adam’s treason and this world has not been redeemed! Sin is still in the earth and all of its consequences, humanity suffers as a result of sin and that’s why we need Jesus!

However, more likely than not the rendering of this verse is incorrect in the NKJV. In one of my Logos commentaries, this verse is rendered quite differently. Here’s what I discovered: First of all, the commentator wrote that the phrase, “this happened” was added into the text. He also explained that since the original text didn’t have punctuation, it could have been punctuated incorrectly. Then he wrote, “It is possible to punctuate this so as to provide the following translation: ‘Jesus replied, “Neither this man sinned nor his parents. But so that the works of God may be revealed in him it is necessary for us to work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming when no-one is able to work.” ’ Punctuated in this way, the text implies not that the man was born blind so that the works of God may be revealed in him, but that Jesus had to carry out the work of God while it was day so that God’s work might be revealed in the life of the man born blind.” Now that will preach!!! And it better fits with the character of Jesus!

Anyway, Jesus made clay with His saliva, anointed the man’s eyes with the clay and told him to go and wash his eyes in the pool of Siloam. (I wonder sometimes what would happen if we made clay for someone’s eyes what would be their response)? If you read my blog “A Special Occassion” you will remember that I mentioned obedience is a first step in getting a miracle. This man had to obey Jesus’ directive to not only go and wash, but to wash in the pool of Siloam. What if a person had a jug of water nearby and had offered it to him to keep him from having to stumble about looking for the pool? Would he have been healed? I don’t think so. Jesus didn’t say go and wash, He said go and wash in the pool of Siloam.

I believe we want to see miracles in our lives, but when we pray, and God gives us directions through His Spirit, we either change the directions or think the details are unimportant, That won’t produce a miracle. I had a friend who was attacked in her body and had gotten an evil report from the doctor. She was also losing her sight and was unable to drive anymore. The Lord told me to go over to her house, decree the healing scriptures over her and to then pray. I was really nervous about doing this because she had more years in the Lord then I did. But I obeyed God! And not long after, her health and her sight returned! He’s awesome like that!!

I’ve prayed for a lot of people over the years. Most of the time I am just obeying the word that states if we lay hands on the sick they shall recover, or the vision that as I lay my hands on people, God’s power will flow into them and they will be healed. But there are times, when God speaks to my spirit and give me instructions and I am absolutely sure a miracle will take place. That’s when I am bold for the Lord! But then there are times God speak to me, and I struggle with doing what He asks. I wonder if it’s just me or if it’s the devil trying to make me look like a fool. So I have not yet perfected obedience in this area!

If you want to see God move in your life or the life of someone else, you will have to be bold in the thing the Lord tell you to do! Faith is bold, faith is radical! And that kind of faith brings heaven to earth! Jesus was bold in everything He did! I want to be just like Him and do the things He did! But if I am going to follow Him in walking in the supernatural, then I understand that I am going to have to follow Him in being bold! Wonderful Jesus!

    • My Favorite Healing Scriptures

Posted at 7:00 am by wonderfuljesus8, on March 19, 2020

At first, I was just going to include a list of my favorite healing scriptures; but as I was editing them the Lord spoke to my spirit and told me to tell you why they are favorites of mine. He also reminded me that when I first started using them He had to teach me to use them, so instead of just a list, I will explain a few things.

Exodus 15:26 – “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” NKJV -This is the scripture in the Word where God first reveals Himself as Jehovah-Rapha the God that heals. Knowing and using this scripture is a foundation for divine health.

Exodus 23:25 – “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” NKJV- I really like this scripture. I use it to command sickness to leave someone’s body, or my own, and I “see” God driving it out!

Psalm 103:2-3 – “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,” NKJV- This scripture is foundational. It reminds us that the same Blood that purchased our salvation, purchased our healing. I did a blog called “The Children’s Bread” that explains our benefit packet of healing. Check it out!

Isaiah 53:4-5 – “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” NKJV- This scripture is foundational also! We must realize that the Blood of Jesus purchased healing and salvation, and as simple as it is to receive salvation, it is just as easy to receive healing.

1 Peter 2:24 – “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed.” NKJV-This scripture is a New Testament confirmation of what Isaiah 53:4-5 shared with us about healing and salvation. It’s in our covenant!

Acts 10:38 – “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” NKJV-Some say healing isn’t for today, but Jesus went about healing because God was with Him. And if we are His, and God is with us, we should be seeing the same things Jesus saw! Also, the devil is the author of sickness and disease, not God. (If you think God gave it to you, then don’t pray to be healed from it because you are fighting His will!) Go figure! He wants you whole!

Romans 8:11 – “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” NKJV- I really love this verse. Since I am a believer in Christ, and His Spirit is on the inside of me, I fully expect His Spirit to quicken, or make alive my mortal body!

Psalm 107:20 – “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” NKJV- God sent His Word, and the Word became flesh, and that Word is Jesus. Both scriptures and Jesus is where we find our healing and deliverance! God sent both! Or one and the same!

Psalm 119:49-50 – “Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.” NKJV-God’s word-Genesis to Revelation- is what I have come to hope on. Although portions of it are specific to different needs, I hope in His Word. But I always remember Exodus 15:26 and Isaiah 53:4-5 and this point! It’s what I am standing; that He is my Healer and it is my comfort and my deliverance when sickness attacks!

Proverbs 3:7-8 – “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.” NKJV- Don’t think that you can live a life of sin and stand on the promises. God’s word, I say all of it, is health to your flesh and strength to your bones!

Jeremiah 33:6 – “Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.” NKJV- This verse demonstrates God’s willingness to heal!

Matthew 8:2-3 – “And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” NKJV-This is another verse that demonstrates that Jesus was willing to heal and He still isn’t. There is no verse that tells us that He changed His mind! Only verses that tells us that He wills to heal us!

Matthew 8:7 – “And Jesus said to him, ‘I will come and heal him.’” NKJV-Jesus will heal!

Matthew 14:14 – “And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.”
NKJV-Jesus heals the sick. His compassion never fails us! We can call on Him and He will respond.

Mark 5:34 – “And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.’” NKJV-Faith is the currency of the kingdom. If you can believe it, you can receive it!

3 John 1:2 – “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” NKJV-This is the sum of it all! God wants us to be in health as our soul prospers! Think of it like this, your mind has to be transformed to believe that you can be healed and as your soul receives this truth, your body will respond with health.

    • The Medicine Cabinet

Posted at 7:00 am by wonderfuljesus8, on March 18, 2020

Proverbs 4:20-22 – “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” NKJV

Have you ever stopped to really listen to commercials selling pharmaceutical drugs? It can really be laughable if it wasn’t so alarming. A well known drug for allergies can cause severe allergic reactions, severe dizziness and trouble breathing. A medication for high blood pressure can cause a loss of potassium, leg cramps, gout and the need for other medications. Other side effects are depression, cold hands and feet, insomnia, symptoms of asthma, and in some cases, kidney failure. Some times I have to wonder if we are not better off without the medicines since the side effects that accompany these medications are often worst.

Thanks be to God that there is a medicine that have long lasting, eternal side effects that are not harmful to your physical body! The Word of God! I’ll talk more about that in a minute.

Now all medications come with instructions. Some require that it be taken four times a day, while others may just be daily! The medicine of God’s word is the same. It comes with instruction! In our verse for today, the writer encourages us to pay attention to His words. Now we understand that we are paying attention to the word of God when we are reading and meditating on it. After paying attention to the word, we are to be willing to learn all that we can from it. If you have never heard this before, be willing to learn what the word teaches about healing. We are to keep the word in our sight and to keep it in the center of our heart. Again, this is not a passive or just for the moment attention to the word. It is a commitment to the word. All of these instructions are for how we are to take the word to get the best results!

Then he tells us what the results are for taking the word: they are life to those who find them, and health and healing to all of their flesh! Healing means I am getting healed from some attack on my body, and health means that I am kept from a need to be healed. So the word of God produces life, health, and healing to those who find them; both present and future results of allowing the word to be your medicine.

In God’s medicine cabinet, what we call the Bible, are countless scriptures regarding His promise to heal us. One of the most well-known scriptures on healing is found in Exodus 15:26-“…For I am the Lord who heals you.” Another favorite of mine and well known verse is Isaiah 53:5- “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” In this blog, I can only mention a few of my favorites, but you can do a search for healing scriptures and get an entire list of them. Also, you can probably look up a YouTube video of someone reading them, so I won’t redo what you can find elsewhere.

I do, however, want to return to the instructions on taking the word. No one told me anything but to get the healing scriptures and to confess them over myself. (I actually own Kenneth Hagin’s “Healing Scriptures” in hard copy and ebook.) But through the years I have developed some “techniques” for taking the medicine of God’s Word that I will share.

      • First, I get a list of healing scriptures. I either grab a book off my shelf or google a list. Sometimes I just go from my memory of the scriptures.

      • Then, I begin to worship Him and thank Him for the validity of His Word, for His faithfulness to His word, for His healing power throughout the years, etc.

      • I then go through the list one verse at a time, making it very personal. For example: “ Lord, you promised in Your Word that if I would obey You and Your word that You wouldn’t allow the sickness and disease that is on the world to come upon me. That You would reveal Yourself and be to me the Lord that heals! I am so thankful for that and I receive that Word as truth. As I have endeavored to obey Your word, I have placed myself in right standing with you to be healed. I receive it for myself, or my family, or my friend right now in Jesus’ Name! And I continue to go through the list of verses in like manner.

      • As I am going through the list, I will come upon a verse that will quicken me. It is at this verse that I will stop and camp. Let’s say that the verse is 1 Peter 2:24 today. Then I will begin to stand with tenacity on that verse. I will remind my body that Jesus hung on the cross and carried this thing in His Body on the cross so that I wouldn’t have to bear it, so I fully resist it! I will remind my body that when He died on the cross it was in order for me to be dead to my sins and therefore dead to sickness and disease! As I live in Him I am the righteousness of God and I live to righteousness. So irrespective to what sin the devil wants to hold charge against me, I plead the Blood and I decree that I am righteous! Now sickness and disease you leave my Body, you are trespassing and I command you to go!

      • If the symptoms don’t leave immediately, I don’t say or think, this isn’t working! I just keep attacking each symptom with God’s word knowing that it will bow to the uncompromising word of God! This medicine is strong! It goes between joints and marrow, it is quick and powerful, it’s sharper than a two-edge sword. There is no defense against the Word of God. Nothing can withstand it when it is wielded properly. So start swinging the sword of the Word at this coronavirus today! I know I am!

Now back to side effects! The side effects of the word of God is that the more you use it, the more you will want to use it. The more you see it work in your life, the more you will apply it to your life. The more you take it, the stronger your physical and spiritual beings will become. And most importantly, the stronger your trust, and therefore, your relationship with God will become! Then as your faith grows, you will be able to reach out to others who are sick and share your medicine with them because your doctor, the Great Physician won’t mind at all. In fact, He will highly recommend it!

If I could write a blog that wouldn’t be extremely long, and potentially boring to you, I would go through all of my healing scriptures and tell you some things I have seen, maybe in shorter doses I can. But let me share this quick testimony:

Our daughter inherited eczema through her dad’s bloodline. And after years of us putting creams on it and praying over it, she had had enough. As a matter of fact, she came to me and said that I didn’t pray over her like I prayed over the people at the church and she wanted to be healed! So the Lord gave me the strategy of us combating it daily with the word. One day I would have a verse, the next day she would, and we would pray that verse over her. Then, one day we prayed and it was a wrap! No more was she tormented in her flesh with that skin rash. Not only that, but her skin cleared up! She was made free! The word works! Don’t let the devil try and convince you that it doesn’t!

At this time, while we are gearing up in America for more and more cases of the coronavirus, and other countries are dealing with the heart of it, I think we should gear up for our vaccine against it! Get into God’s medicine cabinet today, and get His word working on your behalf! He has carried your sins and diseases and with His stripes, you were HEALED! Wonderful Jesus!
