Wonderful Jesus!
And He truly is wonderful! Hi! I’m Martie Susberry, author of this site and founder of Wonderful Jesus Ministries, which began in February 2020.
I received Jesus as a child, but He became Lord and Savior in my teens. I am passionate about the Word of God and became a licensed minister in 2001. Whether preaching, teaching, blogging, or just reading it, I can truly say that the Word is very much a part of my public and private life.
I have been married to the same man, Wade Susberry, for over thirty years. We have 3 grown daughters, all living for Jesus, whom we love dearly and are grateful for. I am an elementary school teacher, and after 26 years of faithful service in our church, God has led me to step out and start my own ministry.
The focus of my ministry is born out of my love for two things: teaching the Word of God and ministering on the subject of healing. My interest in teaching the Word began as a teenager when I first started teaching Sunday School. Over the years, I have taught Sunday School and Wednesday Night Bible study for the adults and led the teaching ministry as the Sunday School Superintendent. It was in the capacity of the superintendent that I realized that there are a lot of biblical teaching tools for the newly saved, how to get saved, marriages, and even family, but not so much for those who are mature in Christ and still need to grow in their knowledge of the word. With this in my heart, I am studying curriculum and instruction to prepare for writing curriculum for the Body of Christ, not just for the mature, but for those who truly believe in the full gospel of the Word of God.
The topic of healing has been important to me since our firstborn was attacked in her body with an abnormal seizure disorder, and then our secondborn was diagnosed with a larynx disorder. At this point, I asked God if He was actively healing or if it was a “Que sera, sera” situation. He led me on an adventure to discover that He is truly the Great Physician.
Looking forward to establishing trust with my followers and those who just stop by as I write and live by the principle of one of my first memory verses as a child:
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
