Acceptable in His Sight!

Psalms 19:14- ‘Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.’

A lot has been going on. I am sure that you can say the same; but those things have kept me from blogging. As a matter of fact, my blog will be short tonight!

As I have been working these past few weeks, I have experienced many of the same challenges of the past that usually cause me to become weary. And although I don’t like these things any more today than I have in the past, I have made a conscience decision to watch what I say and to watch how I think about them.

In the above scripture, David wrote that he wanted the words that he spoke and the thoughts that were in his heart to please God. I’ve said that before. And I meant it when I said it. But how easily it is for me to get into a situation and to forget that! After all, it is normal to complain, to worry, to moan and groan. But God isn’t pleased with that action and therefore, we have to do it differently than what is normal.

So, although I may share my experiences today, I am more aware of the way that I share them. I endeavor to be careful about who the focus of my conversation is about and how I say what I say. But more importantly I work to keep my heart right. Because Jesus said that it is what comes out of a person that defiles him. (Matthew 15:18-19) I know we can be defiled by our environment, but Jesus said that slander, lying, and even murder comes from the heart. I don’t want to be guilty of those things.

So I have made a conscious decision to watch my words. Recently as I was having a conversation with a colleagues she said to me, “I like the way you said that!” Instead of referring to students as “bad” I refer to their behavior as unacceptable or different! Instead of speaking ill of others, I either don’t comment or at least try to say something positive. Sometimes it isn’t easy, but I’m allowing the Holy Spirit to assist me and I am getting better.

It isn’t easy to let my words and thoughts be acceptable to God because He isn’t fooled by anything. But I truly want them to be.

My Class Creed says it this way:

Watch your thoughts; for they become words

Watch your words, for they become actions

Watch your actions for they become habits

Watch your habits for they become character

Watch your character for becomes your destiny. (Don’t know author)

I have a destiny in Christ Jesus. To please the Father. To be acceptable in His sight! So I must get the victory in every area of my life, daily! And so must you! Wonderful Jesus!!

I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord as a child. Once, when I was still quite young, I knocked on a lady’s door, but I don’t remember why. What I do remember is her telling me that I was going to be a preacher. When I was in high school I preached my very first message on Job. It lasted for a long time! LOL! By graduation, I knew that I had been called into ministry. My heart’s desire is to see the people of God understand and operate in the Kingdom of God. We really need to know that we serve an awesome and amazingly good God and our adversary the devil has no good thing dwelling in him.
