Proverbs 10:7-The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot. NKJV

I have shared before that my family and I love visiting historical sites. Although I am not fond of cemeteries, I have seen the Arlington National Cemetery and the Gettysburg Cemetery. I’m amazed at all the people who have died in service to our country and others worldwide. Without their willingness to pay the ultimate price for our freedom, we would not be able to enjoy those freedoms. So, I thought it appropriate to take a moment and thank the Lord for the many individuals who fought in wars or died in service to our nation. And also to acknowledge the families that supported them in their service and mourn their loss. May God’s hand continue to be with you and your family.
Solomon wrote in the Proverbs:
The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.
Proverbs 10:7 NKJV
This scripture tells me what history has repeatedly made known: that we honor those who fought for a righteous cause and vilify those who fought against those causes. Their memory is blessed. We celebrate them and remember their sacrifice. And in doing so, we remember those who supported them, loved them, prayed for them, waited for them, and ultimately lost them. God’s peace and love remain with you always. Have a blessed Memorial Day! Wonderful Jesus!
